Following feedback from patients, your Patient Participation Group (PPG) and our own concerns regarding patient safety, we have decided to pilot a new improved way to book Doctors appointments.
From Monday 7th June, you will need to phone the surgery in order to make an appointment with a GP. You will still be able to use the website for reception queries (“ask reception a question”), nurse appointments, sick notes and prescription requests, as well as accessing self-help advice through our treatment room and wellbeing centre.
How to book a GP appointment
- For urgent on the day appointments, please call between 08:00 – 10:00.
- For pre-booked/routine appointments, please call after 10:00.
Please do not call before 10am for routine/pre-booked appointments to allow the patients who need to be seen urgently on the day to be able to get through to our reception team.
We appreciate a lot has changed over the past year with the pandemic and the introduction of the new website. The reason for these changes is to provide a fairer system for patients to access a GP whilst maintaining patient safety.
We are pleased to announce we are upgrading our phone system from August. This new phone system will include a queue position indicator, a call back option so you can save your position in the queue and updates on our appointment availability.
When you call to make an appointment with a GP our receptionists will ask a few questions regarding your health problem to enable them to allocate your appointment within an appropriate timescale.
We are confident these changes will improve patient experience and we are grateful for your patience and feedback.
